Power Minister for alternative power sources in geographically deprived areas

AGARTALA:

In an apparent attempt to make the state free of any electricity related disturbance, the state government is contemplating to introduce alternative power sources—specifically to cater the geographically underprivileged areas, said Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Devbarman today while inaugurating the new 33/11 KV substation of Amtali. Speaking to the media persons, he also told the media persons that the government would leave no stone unturned in overhauling the electricity services in the state.

“In some interior areas of the state it become very hard to maintain the electricity lines spread over there. Thus, the government has planned to set up renewable energy plants—solar plants, in an attempt to provide uninterrupted energy service all over the state” said the Power Minister.

He also informed the media that the TSECL workers and engineers were wholeheartedly trying to maintain the electrical infrastructure. “The officials have been directed by the ministry to speed up the process of maintaining electrical wires, transformers and other related infrastructure in stipulated period so that no individual suffer due to non-availability of electricity” added the Minister.

“With every passing day the number of electricity consuming gadgets is increasing day by day. And, to cop up with the increasing demand and supply, the department has to play a vital role. The officials have been strictly directed to ensure best services by opening up new substations” he added.

Among the others, local MLA Ram Prasad Paul, PRO of TSECL Krishnapada Sarkar and DCM Selukas Debbarma also attended the programme.
