Madhumita Deb of Tripura moved to the semifinal of the ongoing National Junior Athletics tournament which is has been going on at Nagarjuna University at Andhra Pradesh. Yesterday the tournament has been inaugurated where three athletes from Tripura took part.
Fastest Girl of North East Madhumita Deb, Gopal Saha and Uttam Kapali are the players who took part in the tournament from Tripura. In Under 16 Girl’s 100 meter sprint event Madhumita simply made storm at track and field and with 12.33 seconds she moved to the semifinal of the tournament. Madhumita also will take part in 200 meter sprint.
While in under 18 section Uttam Kapali will enter in 800 meter Huddles and track and in Under 16 Boy’s section Gopal Saha will enter in 100 meter Huddles heat as both the events will be held tomorrow.
Tripura team coach Bikalpa Rudra Paul is very much hopeful with the success of the team as he said that Madhumita will enter in the final that’s for sure while the rest of the players will also do well in the tournament. Notably the tournament will come to an end on November 20.
Tripura LS Poll: 80.40% voting turnout recorded till 5 PM
Addressing a press conference here in his chamber on Friday evening, RO Dr Vishal Kumar said, “The voting turnout rested at 80.40% till 5 pm today and the figure is expected to cross the record of the previous Lok Sabha election which recorded 82.4%.”
