Fastest sprinter of North East Madhumita Deb today bagged silver medal in the ongoing 33rd National Junior Athletics tournament.
The tournament is going on smoothly at Nagarpara University stadium at Vijaynagar in Andhra Pradesh where today in 200 meter sprint Madhumita won the silver medal. In this under 16 girl’s event Madhumita missed the gold medal by on 31 seconds.
J Dipti of Telengana won the gold medal as she took 25.43 seconds while Madhumita took 25.74 seconds to cross the mark. In the prize distribution ceremony Madhumita met with all time great athlete of India, P T Usha and took tips from this legendary athlete.
Both Madhumita Deb and coach Bikalpa Rudra Paul was very much pleased on this performance while on behalf of the state athletic association congratulatory message has been conveyed to Madhumita.
Tripura LS Poll: 80.40% voting turnout recorded till 5 PM
Addressing a press conference here in his chamber on Friday evening, RO Dr Vishal Kumar said, “The voting turnout rested at 80.40% till 5 pm today and the figure is expected to cross the record of the previous Lok Sabha election which recorded 82.4%.”
