National Commission for Safai Karmachari wants sanctioned post for safai workers in Tripura

The member of National Commission for Safai Karmachari (NCSK) Manju Diler who arrived here at Agartala on Thursday expressed concern over non-upgradation of the lifestyle of safai workers here in Tripura who are currently inducted in different sectors like health, education and others.

Manju Diler said, "After meeting those safai workers today it is learnt that they were not being provided with safety kits which they were supposed to use while working."

Apart from this Manju Diler expressed concern over series of deprivation of the safai workers here in Tripura and said, "Tripura is the only state in the country where no permanent or sanctioned post is created so far for the deprived safai workers." She however targeted the previous Left front government in Tripura on this and said, "I really wonder why the previous government has not worked on this and the safai workers were deprived at large".

Meantime, Manju Diler, the member of National Commission for Safai karmachari today also expressed concern over low wages for the safai workers here in Tripura. She said, "Despite the centre has announced minimum wage of Rs. 230, section of safai workers in Tripura are deprived from this."

She however directed the concerned administration to bring safai workers under the coverage of Pradhan Mantri Abhas Yojna and Ayushman Bharat scheme.
