Health minister wanted to know the reason behind the unspent amount of MLA’s development fund during his visit at Khowai subdivision.
Sources said that Health minister Sudip Roy Barman went to Khowai to inaugurate a Blood Donation camp organized by a social organization on May 6. After the inaugural function he visited the District Hospital. During meeting at the office of CMO the minister wanted to know where was the ambulance which bought by spending Rs. 15 lakh from MLA’s Development Fund. In reply CMO said, the ambulance has not been bought.
On hearing the reply expressed his resentment and wanted to know where the hindrance to buy the ambulance was. He also raised question who would pay the increased price in presence of CMO, Medical Superintendent, doctors.
Sources said that MLA of 25 Khowai Constituency Nirmal Biswas proposed for three works to SDM of Khowai in August – September, 2018. His first proposal was to buy an ultra modern ambulance for Khowai District Hospital with different facilities including Oxygen for patients. The then SDM Bimbisar Bhattacharjee issued fund Rs. 15 lakh. But the people of Khowai have not seen any ambulance after 8 months of issuing the fund.
