Speaking on the latest developments taking place here in the MBB Airport Agartala, Executive Director of Airport Authority of India, Sanjeev Jindal said that Agartala airport would like any other international airport in some time.
"The new airport terminal being constructed in Agartala is one of the best-automized airport. And Agartala airport will be the first airport to be set up body scanner machine. More and more biometric more and more technology will be engaged, perhaps, the latest developed technology in the world will be used here. When the work will be commissioned it will lead to hassle-free movement of passengers." said Jindal.
The airport authority is also working wholeheartedly to put an impetus on the issue of gender equality. Jindal said that they were also trying to encourage third genders to come in normal life.
"Apart from the regular course of work, the airport authorities are also trying to encourage underprivileged and unnoticed section of the society. Under this programme, we have taken up an equality project under which transgender are being given opportunities to explore normal way of life For that we hold awareness campaigns in the airport with our stakeholders to offer employment to TGTs as per their qualification and professional skills. AAI has already engaged a TGT in Imphal airport in "May I Help You Centre" through outsourcing. It has also empanelled a TGT lawer.” he added.
