CM Shri Jishnu Dev Varma in TU today. 111th Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur was celebrated by the Tripura University in a befitting and holistic manner in the Maharaja Bir Bikram Satavarshiki Bhavan.
In the program Registrar, Sukanta Banik welcomed the dignitaries and he briefly described the greatness of the King of Tripura. Welcome song was chanted by the students of Music department of Tripura University.
In this program Dy. CM Shri Jishnu Dev Varma was present over the program as a chief guest and Chairman of My Home India Shri Sunil V. Deodhar as the guest of Honour. The Vice-Chancellor of TU Prof. V. L. Dharurkar presided over the program where more than thousand of TU students attended the program along with faculties and all staffs of the University.
While delivering the speech Shri Deodhar appreciated the Maharaja and his contribution towards the building of modern Tripura. He appeals that the Government of India should confer the Bharat Ratna the highest civilization award in favor of the Maharaja in recognition of his contribution towards the people of Tripura.
Mr. Deodhar also described various constructive activities launched by My Home India project for the betterment of the people of North-East in general and Tripura in particular.
While Shri Jishnu Dev Varma highlighted the various activities promoted by Maharaja and the selfless service and dedication of Manikya Bahadur towards the modern Tripura and education policy and schools, colleges in the state. The Dy. CM also said the King did not make anything after his name or any of his ancestors which proved to be the selfless service towards the Tripura state. He strives hard for building modern and progressive Tripura state in India said Dy. CM Jishnu Dev Varma in TU today. He added that we must get inspired from the rich history of Tripura and Govt. of Tripura is working to include the same in the school academic curriculum.
Prof. Dharurkar said Maharaja Bir Bikram has played a Nobel role to make the modern Tripura. He was Rajashri King among Priests and Priest among Kings. While speaking on the academic progress of the TU, Prof. Dharurkar said that this year the highest number of students applied and admitted in TU. He also added that TU will be the first University in the country to implement the New National Education Policy-2019 of Govt. of India. The program ended with the National Anthem and vote of thanks by Dr. Alak Bhattacharjee, CDC (i/c).
