Huge development works are going on for up gradation of Kailashahar town. More works will begin in the new financial year, said Vice Chairperson of Kailashahar Municipal Council Nitish Dey at a press conference today.
He said, maintenance work of Lounge at Kailashahar Airport has been started in the meantime. Construction work of collapsed boundary wall of the Airport also started at five 5 places. Besides repair and maintenance works are going on at cracked places of embankment of Manu River. An amount of Rs. 3 crore allotted for the purpose. Although, works of Land Customs Station has been suspended at present. Meanwhile KMC authority is maintaining communication with higher authority of concerned Central Ministry.
The Vice Chairperson said, new divider will be set up from Hospital to Kargil Chowmuhani. Meanwhile works of shifting Netaji’s statue to West side of Netaji Corner started to make movement of vehicle easier. An amount also allotted for beautification of four banks of Kali Dighi where side wall and bench for sitting will be constructed.
Besides, KMC decided to construct vegetable market by breaking the West part of Old Hawkers corner which is 30 years old. Space for footpath hawkers will be allotted by building partition at Panchouki Bazar of Kailashahar.
Location of four parking zones identified in the town. An amount of Rs. 28 lakh allotted for repair and maintenance of all lanes under KMC. Construction works of boundary wall is going on surrounding RKI ground, added Vice Chairman.
