IMA Foundation has been working with artists in India and across the world since 2008. The foundation is committed to using art as a social enabler that reminds people of their heritage and the importance of cultivating their own creative potential. IMA Foundation would now like to signal a new initiative in the state of Tripura.
"In light of the 5th April to 14th April lockdown and the lack of contact and stimulation we have decided to organise an online art events which will involves a number of the regional artists who are exponents of different art forms. We are grateful to tripuraIndia.com for their kind support and willingness to collaborate on this initiative", said a member of the foundation.
A press communique released further stated,
"We intend to provide online events lasting approximately 30 minutes for individuals on a daily basis over a 10 day period. This will be focused on helping individuals use readily available household materials to produce works of art. The artists will provide the instruction and guidance needed to use the materials and experiment with them to both enjoy the process as well as commit to creating artistic outputs which are personally meaningful and provide emotional comfort. In addition, we will provide some resources from IMA Foundation on how people can look after themselves and each other in the family unit ie: mentally, spiritually, socially and physically. Rani Sharma is director of IMA and a specialist in Human Flourishing."
On a practical note the online lessons will be run via WhatsApp, Skype and Zoom at an allotted time (to be announced). All the sessions will be held live and through the WhatsApp channel. To achieve this we will be involving artists who represent different genres ie.
Printmaking, Clay Modelling, Needlework, Tattoo, Drawing, Painting, Portrait, How to Make Henna, Literature, Cloth Sculpture, Paper Pulp Sculpture, Origami and Human Flourishing.
