The state education minister Ratan Lal Nath on Monday urged upon the 10, 323 ad-hoc pay teachers of the state who are facing an axe of their service from April 1 this year not to worry on this.
He said, “Our government has now decided to file mail petition with the apex court seeking fresh appointment for the axed teachers and absorb them on government identified 10, 000 vacant posts.”
Putting his statement in a video in his page in social media on Monday the education minister said, “Though we have filed the interlocutory petition with the Supreme Court earlier but due to the country-wide lockdown to contain COVID-19 the matter is kept on hold as the SC is not taking any registration for the time being.”
“We are closely monitoring the overall situation and development from the SC’s end in regard to our petition seeking appointment for the 10, 323 teachers,” adding to this Mr. Nath said, “Our government is committed to end the long standing impasse of those teachers by offering them fresh appointment on regular basis.”
The state government earlier this month moved the Apex Court with an interlocutory petition seeking its permission to recruit 10,323 teachers in various posts laid vacant in several government departments.
There are a total of 4375 under graduate, 3761 are graduate and 746 are post graduate of the 10, 323 whose services are axed by the SC after March 31 this year due to the ‘illegal’ recruitment policy of the then Left front government.
