Left Front state committee coming down heavily on the BJP-IPFT government for introducing new policies, what they claim, against the people on Sunday claimed that the BJP had forgotten what they promised before the elections.
Addressing a Press Conference at CPIM state headquarters, Left Front state convener Bijan Dhar alleged, the BJP allured the people of Tripura by empty promises—‘Vision Document’. And, now, the government is taking decisions one after another which is apparently against the interest of people. Introduction of several kind taxes and the recently declared hike in the health fees are some of the very visible examples of government’s mindset.
Slamming the decisions of imposing taxes, Dhar said, the government has also hiked taxes on petroleum products and properties, water supply and on roads. There has been no renovation of roads during last 18 months, the condition of feeder roads is deplorable, he claimed.
Left Front convener also pointed finger on the government for its attempts of downsizing. He said, the government is sacking hundreds of people from different contractual posts such as mid-day meal workers, pump operators, Anganwadi Centres, GRS, etc.
Dhar also urged the government to withdraw the decision of imposing tariff is government hospitals across the state and assure free services to the people.
