A two-day programme on the first of its kind animal law sensitization workshop is held here in Agartala on Tuesday. The workshop is jointly organized by the state animal resource development department, a local NGO named Pawsome and Humane Society International-India.
However, eminent social worker Niti Deb has inaugurated the workshop which shall end on November 13. The workshop has been customized to equip police officers with a thorough understanding of animal welfare laws.
This is also to create awareness about animal laws so that police officials can tackle animal cruelty and animal abuse incidents as well as illegal wildlife trade issues.
