Farmers frustrated by damage of winter crop at Kamalpur

KAMALPUR:

Farmers of different areas of Kamalpur subdivision are very much frustrated by the damage of winter vegetable crop at huge areas of the subdivision. Sources said that Joy Kumar Das of Dabbari, Pintu Das, Kamal Biswas of 32 Card, Gopendra Roy or Ratan Debnath and Ram Narayan Nama of Uttar Kachucherra are quite disappointed by the destruction of winter crop.

As a result the subdivision known as vegetable store of Dhalai district has no sign of cutting winter crop except frustration.

Sources said that cauliflower, cabbage, brinjal, tomato and different winter crops are drying in the ground. The farmers said that the crops attacked by a disease due to untimely rain. At the same time the farmers have not received any help from the department.

They raised question why the department has adopted non cooperation while the Centre and State Government want to double the income of farmers by 2022. Meanwhile Agri Supervisor of Salema refused to accept any true fact behind the information.
