Oath taking of newly elected members held at almost all municipal councils today including four members of Agartala Municipal Corporation.
The newly elected six members of Kailashahar Municipal Council took oath today. SDM of Kailashahar Dr. Bishal Kumar administered the oath. Later MLA Bhagaban Das and KMC member Nitish Dey delivered speech in presence of citizens of KMC.
The oath taking started at 11 a.m. at the premises of Municipal council office. The newly elected members Kali Chakraborty, Madhumita Deb, Sarjit Malakar, Bulbul Chakraborty, Bidhubhusan Malakar and Anima Malakar took oath one by one in the name of God. The speakers expected cooperation of people for development of the town.
Meanwhile 15 newly elected members of Teliamura Municipal Council took oath at Teliamura Town Hall today. DM of Khowai District Pankaj Chakraborty administered the oath of secrecy. Among others Chief Whip of State Assembly Kalyani Roy, SDM Bhaskar Bhattacharjee, Executive Officer of TMC Takirai Debbarma, Vice Chairman of Teliamura Panchayat Samiti Nirod Baran Das were present in the programme.
It also mentionable here that all the newly elected members elected uncontested as no opposition candidates contested due to threat and lack of security. Chairman, Vice Chairman and different public standing committees will be elected on January 21. The name of Rupak Sarkar and Nitish Saha are being considered as most probable candidate for Chairperson or VC.
