Acting on secret information police from Champahawar Police Station seized Yaba tablet worth of Rs. 7 lakh from two youths today.
Sources said that police led by ASP Rajib Sengupta, SDPO Sourav Sen and OC of Champahawar Police Station were waiting at civil dress at Sukhiabari on Khowai –Kamalpur Road. All of a sudden a bike (TR 01AC7179) arrived there.
Police detained the bike and arrested bike riders Debanta Das (24) and Biswajit Das (27). Police recovered 10,000 Yaba tablet from them worth of more than Rs. 7 lakh.
Both the youths are dweller of Jogendra Nagar in Agartala. Champahawar Police Station filed a case against the youths under case no 26/2019, u/s 22© 25& 29 NDPS Act. The court granted 5 days police remand after producing them in court.
