Poor construction of road from Bairagi Dokan Main Road to Purba Manikya ADC Village proved the irresponsible work culture of Jatanbari Subdivision of PWD.
The road is life line for 300 families at Nibaranpara, Krishna Kanta Para, Suddha Kumar Para, Chaitra Sen Para, Prabin Kumar Para.
Sources said that the department started mateling of 5.5 Km road before the last election in accordance with demand of local people from Bairagi Dokan Main Road to Suddha Kumar Dhanyabari Bholanath Para TSR Camp. The works of carpeting of the road started before 11 months. But the work was done in an unscientific manner. The mateling of the road converted to death trap at some places.
Meanwhile many accidents took place by overturning bicycle, bike, auto rickshaw at many places of the road. Observing the poor construction with degraded bricks local people raised question whether the work would be completed while allotted fund already went to pockets of beneficiaries.
Meanwhile locals Sumanta Tripura, Pusparoy Tripura demanded intervention of SDO of PWD to reconstruct the road. Otherwise they threatened to ghero SDO office.
