The state unit of CPIM party has on today opposed the Bandh called by tribal political parties in protest of Citizenship Amendment Bill and termed such agitation “Show off”.
“The CPIM party firmly opposes the Citizenship Amendment Bill, but such show off protests through calling Bandh or strike is not a good sign for common life” said CPIM state secretary Goutam Das while addressing a Press conference. The CPIM leader also announced a weeklong protest programme from December 18 to 24.
“We will hold week long protest programmes against the anti-people decision made by the present government from December 18 to 24 next” Das told media after the daylong state committee meeting held yesterday.
Das alleged the last 20 months of Biplab Deb government proved that he had failed miserably in discharging his duties. “The MGNREGA man-days have been reduced, TUEP workers are also not getting wages, prices of essential commodities are touching new heights every day; a sense of deprivation can be observed in every section of the society under this regime” Das claimed.
He also pointed finger at the law and order situation and claimed that the National data had shown as to how Tripura reached the top position in crimes due to political terror. “It has been clear by the NCRB data that political terror has prevailed in the state after the assembly elections of 2018” he added.
