COVID-19 relief: First cargo flight ferrying medical kit lands at Agartala MBB airport

In a major relief for the people of this state in wake of COVID-19 fear, the first cargo ATR flight ferrying the medical kits has landed at Agartala MBB airport today. The medical kits contained a huge number of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE), face masks especially for the frontline health worker and other life-saving drugs.

The safety kits are brought from Kolkata by ATR flight of Air India flight today. The flight landed at around 01:40 PM carrying a total of 77 cartoons of medical kits and life-saving drugs weighing to 457 kgs.

Health secretary Debashish Basu today informed that the ferry adequate number of medical kits is now available with the hospitals now. He said, “We have a total of 539 PPE kits, 7,431 N-95 face masks for the frontline health workers and a total of 33, 056 triple-layer face masks.”

“We have received 20 percent of the medical kits of what we have proposed for with the centre,” adding to this he said, “Today we have proposed the centre to dispatch us 20 numbers of ventilators for the hospitals.”

Earlier the PHL Chopper which took off from Agartala on Thursday last has landed at MBB Airport at 04:46 pm on Friday last bringing all essential medicines & medical kits.
