The state Health and Family Welfare Department has set up isolation units in all the TSR (Tripura State Rifle) battalion headquarters in order to screen the troops who are returning to the battalion after leave, IG TSR GK Rao told this reporter.
On being asked on the issue, he said, in all the TSR battalions an isolation unit has been prepared so that troops who are returning to duty after leave can be taken into isolation.
“Since 9 of the 12 battalions of the state are IR battalions there 25 percent reservation for the job aspirants from other state. Now many of them have gone for leave who hail from the movie 19 hit areas and on their return the have to be isolated for sure. Otherwise they may carry the contagion to the entire force”, Rao said.
Meanwhile, sources in the BSF (Border Security Force) also said that all the advisories issued by the state health department were being followed by the BSF jaw and posted in various bordering areas of the state.
Meanwhile, Dr Debabsish Basu, secretary Heath Tripura government informed that a meeting had been convened in participation of the local traders.
“It has appeared that the traders are facing some issues due to the lockdown. The small scale traders are finding it hard to move from one part to another part of the city. It has been directed from the part of government that all the traders association should issue ID cards which will be further validated by the respective sub-divisional magistrates so that the traders can access goods from wholesale markets”, he told reporters in civil secretariat.
However, as of now, there are no confirmed Covid 19 cases in Tripura, Basu informed media.
