Corona Virus: Isolation unit set up in GBP hospital

AGARTALA:

An isolation unit was set up in GBP hospital Agartala with special arrangements to prevent the “Corona Virus” outbreak in the state.

Sources in the health department told this website that if any kind of infection or symptoms of the disease was suspected in any part of the state the patients would be soon rushed to the special unit for treatment.

Dr. Anjan Das had been assigned to shoulder the responsibility of the special unit located at the old TB ward under the respiratory medicine unit of the hospital. Apart from that, all the doctors’ bodies—IMA and ATGDA had undertaken a number of awareness programmes across the state.

Speaking to this reporter, Dr. Kanak Chowdhury of ATGDA said, “All the doctors’ bodies are taking concerted steps to generate more and more awareness among the masses. More and more awareness campaigns are being organized to create a strong public force against this disease. A special programme will be also organized at AGMC hospital on Wednesday in the participation of the doctors and the students”.

Meanwhile, a huge consignment of masks had been also ordered for the state health department. “There is no scarcity of masks but for any emergency, the department has to be prepared. The state health department cannot afford any crisis in the hours of need so an order has been placed” said a highly placed source in the department.
