In a sensational verdict District Judge of Khowai Court convicted one person Ajit Debbarma for ganja smuggling and storing at house and ordered 10 years jail under section 20 (B) (II) (C) and another 10 years jail under NGPS Act. In total he will get 10 years imprisonment as both the punishments will go at same time.
Sources said that acting on secret information a large contingent of police from Khowai Police Station led by SI Bikramjit Debbarma raided the house of Ajit Debbarma and found 294 Kg 300 gm ganja.
Police filed a Suo Moto case against him. After completion of investigation IO of the case Sukanta Debbarma submitted a charge sheet at Khowai Court. After hearing Justice Goutam Sarkar convicted Ajit Debbarma.
