Though the absence of former PCC chief Pradyot Kishore Dev Barman is being literally felt in party’s poll preparations for the ensuing ADC elections but, party’s youth brigade coupled with the old faces seemed to have started taking steps to ensure a good fight in the polls.
According to a party insider, AICC General Secretary and North East in-charge (except Assam) Luizinho Falerio and AICC secretary and Tripura In-charge Bhupen Borah are tirelessly coordinating with PCC leaders to rebuild party in the interior pockets of the state.
“The ADC polls are not far away and it has been directed from the party high command that party’s performance should improve from the previous elections” sources in the party said.
However, Party’s Vice President of the state unit, Pijsuh Biswas has already left for Delhi to take part in a meeting to be held tomorrow. “AICC chief Sonia Gandhi will preside over a meeting of all the state unit chiefs. Detailed reports on the party’s progress and upcoming polls will be submitted before her. Based on these reports, party’s future plans will be chalked out” party sources told this website.
On the other hand, party’s youth fraction has been given the responsibility of reaching out in the interior pockets. Several courtyard meeting have been convened in the interior ADC pockets of South Tripura district which falls under the ADC constituencies of 26, 27 and 28.
Youth Congress working president Pujan Biswas, who has been entrusted with job to work in these constituencies, said, as pitched by the national leaders we are working in the tribal helmets who have a built in opposing voice against the citizenship amendment Bill. We have received huge appreciation in the rural helmets, specifically in the tribal areas, he claimed.
Meanwhile, AICC general Secretary Falerio will be once again arriving here in the state in the month December. Though, there are no apprehensions of new PCC chief in state, he will hold meetings with allies of the Congress party to ensure befitting fight against the ruling parties, party sources said.
