BSF has created many instances of work in social sector while the force is engaged in protection of border of the country. It has helped to build up brotherly relation with the people of border area.
BSF 31 Battalion organized a civic action programme at Bhangamura J.B. School on October 15. The battalion supplied bench for the students of the school.
Speaking on the occasion Assistant Commandant K.N. Thakur said, 16 benches offered to Bhangamura J.B. School under Harbatali ADC village. Besides, the battalion constructed kitchen for cooking mid-day-meal of the school with an expense of Rs. 1 lakh in the last year. The battalion also spent Rs. 1.4 lakh for construction of boundary wall of Chittabari J.B. School and repairing of class room of the school.
The Battalion also constructed a rest house for farmers at Srinagar with an expense of Rs. 1 lakh. Despite this the battalion will distribute play materials of cricket, volleyball and football for the players of the village after the puja.
Among others Commandant of BSF 31 Battalion Rampal Singh, Chairman of Harbatali ADC village Krishna Tripura, Headmaster of the school Dalan Tripura delivered speech on the occasion. Later the students of the school and BSF jawans performed songs and dances.
