In a major cash haul, police team under the leadership of OC Jatrapur police station, Samir Roy and SI Rathindra Debbarma recovered Rs 20 lakh cash and 3 Kgs of Cannabis from the residence of Majil Haque at Baspukur.
Speaking to this website, SDPO Sonamura Souvik Dey said, it is one of the biggest cash recoveries of recent past. From our secret sources we came to know that huge quantity of Phensedyl and cannabis was stocked at the residence of Majil. Accordingly a search operation was conducted at his residence wherefrom the police recovered 3 Kgs of cannabis and a cash of Rs 20 lakh.
He also informed us that the police department was working jointly with BSF, IB, SB and state intelligence department to put a stop on the cross-border crimes.
