In a major development, the joint team of BSF and Tripura police succeeded in busting a racket of drug smuggling in Dakshin Para area of village Boxanagar under Police Station Kalamchera. The incident took place on Monday last after the BSF intelligence branch received a credible information about stocking of Dry Ganja and yaba Tablets in the house of one drug smuggler identified as 25 years old Rameez Mia.
However, acting on this information, the joint team of BSF and local police with BSF Dog Squad on Tuesday morning reached near the target area and cordoned off the house. On observing BSF and police party inside his residential complex, the suspect tried to run away but he was immediately apprehended by the party.
Six plastic drums filled with 262 kgs of Dry Ganja worth Rs. 13,10,000 is recovered. On further search of the house, party also seized one polythene bags containing1171 Nos Yaba Tablets worth Rs. 5,85,500/- Indian currency Rs. 11,75,850/-, Bangladesh currency Tk 5,730 and 02 mobile Phones from different corners of the house.
On the recovery of above mentioned contrabands items from his house, Ramiz Mia got fainted and was admitted to PHC Boxanagar by the Police party, form where the suspect was referred to Agartala GBP Hospital.
The seized contrabands handed over to PS Kalamchera and FIR is being lodged against Ramiz Mia under NDPS Act.
