Thousands of Bru refugees, who would be settled in Tripura, took to the streets today to Pradyot Tripura royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman at Kanchanpur. The Bru leaders extended their gratitude towards the total head for his initiatives which finally brought positive results for the refugees sheltered in six relief camps in Tripura since 1997.
Earlier one of the Bru organization wrote a letter thanking him and extended their gratitude. Huge number of Bru women also participated in the rally.
Reacting on this, Pradyot Kishore Debbarman said that everybody helped to resolve the issue and this was an united attempy.
“See I am not an elected representative. What I can do is to raise a voice. I personally met Home Minister Amit Shah three times regarding the issue. Finally it got settled and I am very much happy” Pradyot told us over phone.
He also said that he was vocal for the interest of Bru since the proposed BSF firing range issue came to fore.
“I asked the government to settle Brus in Tripura when a BSF firing range has been proposed to be built here. It is since then I have pleaded the government to resolve their plight and finally the government decided to solve these problems” he added.
On being asked on CAA, he said, his petition challenging the law will come up for hearing on Wednesday and there would be no compromise on the issue.
