The communication between Khowai and Agartala suspended since morning today as villagers of Kalacherra staged a road blockade on Khowai – Agartala Road on demand of drinking water today.
The agitators alleged that all government and private sources of drinking water went out of order. So more than villagers irrespective of men, women, and youths staged the blockade with utensil on their hand to get drinking water for their survival.
The blockade continued from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Later the agitators withdrew the blockade on the basis of assurance by BDO of Padmabil. As a result movement vehicles started after 12 p.m.
