As the communist party-backed Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) state committee is all set to join the nation-wide 'bandh' on 8 January against the anti-worker anti-people anti-national policies of the Modi-2 Government, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has opposed it and felt that people of this nation shall not support their bandh which is to discover malign campaign against government at the centre and state and bring an harassment for the common citizens of the state.
Addressing a press conference here at the party headquarters the BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee today took on the CPI-M and said, "Bharat Bandh has now become an annual calendar for the communist party. People of this nation shall not support this bandh as this is to malign the government functioning across the nation."
He said, "We appeal the state government to take necessary initiatives towards keeping the situation normal on January 8. We appeal the government to keep open their departments and aid business establishments and others to remain open on the day."
"We demand the government to take legal action against those who create nuisance in the name of bandh on January 8," adding to this Mr. Bhattacharjee said, "Our party workers shall be present in the roads and streets and appeal the people to keep open their establishments."
