Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today said, "Bangladesh to soon open an international airport in Coxbazar and facilitate the tourist from the state of Tripura."
The Chief Minister said, "This will also accelerate the trade with Bangladesh opening a new era for the state." The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering of students in Agartala Institute of Paramedical Science today during its 11th foundation day programme.
"I had an interaction with the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over telephone. She informed me that Bangladesh to soon open an international airport in Coxbazar. She also urged me to send my people of Tripura to Bangladesh and get access the airport in Bangladesh," said Mr. Deb.
Meantime, he said, "Once the bridge over the river Feni in Bangladesh is completed, tourist from this state can avoid moving to Kerala with hefty cost and drive towards Asia's largest beach in Coxbazar crossing the international border of Bangladesh in Southern part of the state."
