To mark India's decisive military victory over arch-rival Pakistan that led to the creation of Bangladesh as an independent nation, Bangladesh Bijoy Diwas to be observed on December 16th at Agartala.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday the Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner in Agartala Kirit Chakma has briefed the programme schedule and said the observance shall kick off on December 16th by paying tribute to martyrs of 1971 war here at Agartala Post Office Chowmuhani.
He said series of programme are arranged to mark the day which includes hoisting Bangladesh flag in Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala. He however informed that a cultural programme and seminar on Bangladesh Bijoy Diwas will also be held here at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan.
Observed on December 16 every year, ‘Bijoy Diwas’ marks India’s decisive military victory over arch-rival Pakistan that led to the creation of Bangladesh as an independent nation.
Bangladesh’s people gratefully recognize the role of the Indian Army’s role in helping them defeat the brutal Pakistani army.
