In a tragic incident of road mishap one auto rickshaw driver died on the spot when the auto collided with a Bolero truck at Khowai today. Sources said that the auto rickshaw with two passengers (TR01G-3823) was coming from Tulashikhar to Kalabagan Akalabya School at about 11:30 a.m..
Meanwhile a Bolero Truck (TR 06A-1505) was following the auto at high speed. All of a sudden it dashed the auto from back side. As a result the auto overturned along with passengers at roadside.
Meanwhile local people rescued the auto driver and passengers and shifted the passengers to Tulashikhar Hospital. The driver Mahesh Debbarma (42) was shifted to Khowai Hospital. But the doctors announced him dead immediately.
The two women passengers were released after preliminary treatment. The body of Mahesh Debbarma was handed over to his family members after post mortem. Police seized both the vehicles.
