ATM hacking: Police gets a breakthrough

In a significant development, the cybercrime unit of Tripura Crime Branch registered a breakthrough in the ATM cloning case that shook the state in November last.

Reportedly, the police personnel succeeded to recover a bag from a pond located in the city outskirts followed by the interrogation of the four international conmen.

A highly placed police source said, “Based on the inputs given by the arrested people, we recovered a bag from a pond located at Shanpara, Lankamura. Till now, we failed to get anything noticeable from the bag but we are scanning it engaging all scientific equipments”.

There are strong apprehensions, he added, that four of the accused disposed the electronic devices somewhere in the state before leaving. The police exploring every possibility to track those devices so that the crime can be established easily. So far we recovered an electronic cord, some clothes and a screwdriver from the bag, he added.
