As Tripura boils with tribals protest against CAB, Youth Congress calls 24 hours 'bandh'

Amid the ongoing indefinite strike against the CAB in the hilly areas of the state putting an adverse impact in state capital, the Tripura Youth Congress on Wednesday called for 24 hours general strike on Thursday in Tripura in protest of the alleged brutal lathi charge of the police upon the congress leaders here at Agartala.

The Youth Congress President Pujan Biswas on Wednesday alleged that they were brutally attacked by the police while they were about to start their protest rally against the introduction of CAB in Tripura.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening in front of the Agartala Congress Bhawan after the congress leaders scuffled with the police.

He however alleged that large numbers of congress leaders including the women agitators were attacked upon by the police lathi charge turning the situation more violent.
