One Anganwadi worker at Kailashahar is still working at her position after siphoning thousands of rupees which were allotted as allowance for ASHA workers from the period of Left Front Government.
The Anganwadi worker cum teacher admitted the incident of siphoning off fund. The Anganwadi worker who is wife of Upa Pradhan of Ichapur Panchayat has not paid the pending amount till now.
Sources said that six ASHA worker work under Ichapur Panchayat. The ASHA workers had to get Rs.150 per month. But the ASHA workers had not get any allowance since 2011. The total siphoned amount is Rs. 44000. The amount of fund could be more than one lakh rupees according to calculation of government. Secretary of 6 Sanitation Committee under 6 Anganwadi Centre Pratima Sarkar admitted the fact in an interview that the ASHA workers have not received their pending amount. There is a joint account of Pratima Sarkar along with Panchayat Pradhan of Ichapur.
So there is also a possibility of involvement of the Pradhan in misappropriation of the fund. Meanwhile the ASHA workers demanded to get back their pending amount.
