The dramatic episode of holding power over the 30 member ADC council, has taken yet another twist as Chief Executive Member of TTAADC Radhacharan Debbarma today rubbished the no-confidence notice and held few of the conspirators responsible for the entire scene. He also claimed that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party was trying relentlessly to wrest the ADC through the back-channel approaches.
Addressing a media conference here in the CPIM state headquarters today, Radacharan alleged that the letter that was submitted to the secretary to the ADC, Governor and Chairman TTAADC including signatures of 15 district council members and executive members and later circulated widely in the social media platforms was a part of a well-concerted conspiracy hatched by the BJP and a section of government employees posted in the ADC.
“Some of the members were convinced to sign in a white paper after assuring them that this would be a demand draft to be placed before the government to increase the honorarium of the ADC council members. And, some of the signatures were forged by Pratiram Tripura and Jay Kishore Jamatia, two of the council members who met the Governor last evening. In this fraudulent attempt, a government teacher Bishal Chakma and Shibananda Debbarma, an employee of the ICA department are also involved” he alleged.
MDC Chatai Mog, who signs were also in the notice, extended support to the claims of CEM and said, he has not signed in any papers but his signature has appeared in the notice. “This seems like some magic or an explicit case of forgery”, Mog added.
Meanwhile, Radhacharan also pointed the accusing finger at Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Devbarma claiming that both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister had endorsed the move. “Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have inertly helped the conspirators in doing this” Radhacharan claimed.
