A Division Cricket: OPC remains unbeaten, thrash Polestar by 4 wkts

OPC maintained their dominance in the ongoing Santosh Memorial ‘A’ division cricket tournament organized by Tripura Cricket association. Today they defeated Polestar by 5 wickets and thus won all of their 6 matches till now in the tournament. With this win OPC also went very much close to became champion in the tournament. Batting first Polestar made 161 runs which have been chased down easily by OPC in 35.4 overs losing 5 wickets.

In the morning today at Ranirbazar field OPC won the toss and asked Polestar to bat first. Batting first Polestar managed to make only 161 runs from 43 overs. Apart from Aakash Bhatt, Sankar Paul and Chandan Roy all the other have been failed to put on any decent contribution. Akash Bhatt made 34 from 57 balls with 4 fours, Sankar Paul made 30 from 42 balls with 4 fours, Chandan Roy made 24 from 22 balls while Dipayan Debbarma made 14 runs.

Among the OPC bowlers Nishi Kanta Debnath picked up 3 wickets while Satadeep Saha and Subham Ghosh picked up 2 wickets each. In reply Samir Debbarma powered OPC to the victory with an unbeaten half century. Samir remained unbeaten on 57 from 63 balls with 10 fours and 1 six, Subham Ghosh made 35 from 60 balls with 4 fours while Parag Debnath remained unbeaten on 22. Saruk Hossein picked up 2 wickets. OPC won by 5 wickets.
