96 liquor bottles recovered from vehicle at Udaipur

UDAIPUR:

Police and TSR recovered 96 bottles of illicit foreign liquor from a car at Dhajanagar in front of DonBosco School on Agartala – Sabroom National Highway today. Meanwhile police arrested one person who was owner of the bottles.

Sources said that police and TSR started checking on vehicles before the ensuing Loksabha Poll. During checking today police recovered the bottles from two sacks which were loaded on a vehicle (TR 03 1449) which was going from Agartala to Karbook.

On being informed SI Manojit Debbarma of R.K. Pur Police Station rushed to the spot and arrested owner of the sacks Subrata Debnath who is dweller of Bishramganj.

During interrogation Debnath said that he bought the bottles from Battala and he was taking the bottles to Amarpur. But he told driver and conductor that shoes were loaded in the sacks and the conductor had no idea about the reality inside the sacks. The market value of the bottles with liquor is Rs. 60,000.
