The 6th edition of Unakoti film festival, one of the known such events of the state, has created a massive buzz among the local masses. The festival that was inaugurated on September 13 last at Unakoti Kalakshetra of Kailasahar is also special in a sense as some of the renowned faces of Bengali film industry have arrived here in the state to participate in the festival and, a Bengali feature film “Adar” is also going to be premiered in the festival.
Speaking to this correspondent, director of the film “Adar”, shot mostly in and around Kailasahar, Debtosh Ghosh said, I have come here more than 10 times for shooting. The appreciation and support I have received from the part of Tripura people is unforgettable. He had also assured that he would like to work more and more in Tripura.
Speaking on the film that was going to be screened in the festival Ghosh said, the film is about a deep understanding between a man and an animal. The way man is treating the nature now days and as to how the ruthless behavior of man is hurting others are also part and parcel of the film, Ghosh added. Through this film, he said, I tried to show how a man can treat an animal as his own family member.
However, among the others, lead actor of the film and a renowned face of the Bengali film industry Rajatava Datta also attended the inaugural function of the festival along with other crew and technical team members of the film. Notably, altogether 27 short films of distinguished languages of Bengal, Assam, Gujrat and Bangladesh had been selected to be screen in this festival which is going to get concluded on September 19 next. The films will be rewarded in certain categories. The entire event is organized by UDBM Film & Media Arts.
