Teachers are backbone of the nation. However respect for teachers reduced a lot at present time, said Tourism minister Pranajit Sinha Roy while inaugurating the programme of 57th National Teachers Day and felicitation of Teachers, 2018 at Rajarshi Kalakhsetra in Udaipur today.
Referring present government is very much cordial to develop the education which still remained backward in the state he stressed on developing awareness among students to respect the teachers. Pointing out the root cause of less respect could have been involvement of teachers with politics he said, “We should bring back environment of respect for teachers in the state”
On the occasion 72 teachers were felicitated. Retired teacher of Ramesh High School Mohit Ranjan Dhar has been felicitated with Dr. Radhakrishnan Sammanana. Among others MLA Biplab Ghosh, MLA Rampada Jamatia, teacher Subrata Charaborty, retired teacher Manik Lal Dutta, Professor of Tripura University Sattadeo Podder delivered speeches on the occasion.

The birth day of second President of India Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan observed as Teachers Day as he said to his friends and students who were interested to observe his birthday “It would be my proud privilege if my birth day is observed as day for Teachers all over the country”. He was great orator, professor, politician and writer of Adwaita Vedantabad.
MLA Sankar Roy inaugurated the programme of National Teachers Day by lighting lamp at Dolbari H.S. School in presence of Headmaster Dulal Das and other teachers. On the occasion students performed a colourful cultural programme and MLA Sankar Roy released wall magazine “Nutan Kuri”.
Meanwhile MLA Sankar Roy inaugurated Subdivision level National Teachers Day at Harina Community Hall. On the occasion a souvenir edited by Researcher and poet Ashokananda Roy Bardhan released.
At the same time 57th National Teachers Day observed with befitting respect at Old Town Hall of Amarpur subdivision. MLA Ranjit Das inaugurated the programme with an appeal to reach education to all. On the occasion 17 retired teachers were felicitated in presence of National award winner teacher Parimal Chandra Das, Principal of Amarpur College Sankar Bhattacharjee and others.
Meanwhile 57th National Teachers Day observed at Sonamura Town Hall today. Principal of Kabi Najrul College B.K. Roy inaugurated the programme with an appeal to strengthen the bondage among teachers and students in order to provide better education. On the occasion 50 retired teachers were felicitated. In the programme students of the school performed songs, dance and recitation.
Besides, Khowai Subdivision level 57th National Teachers Day observed with befitting respect at Khowai Town Hall today. MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury inaugurated the programme with an appeal to build up real human being. On the occasion 20 retired teachers were felicitated.
Meanwhile Teachers Day observed with initiative of Bishalgarh School Inspector Office at Bishalgarh Town Halltoday. Eminent Social worker Ranjan Purkayastha inaugurated the programme. Education Officer Sukhendu Bikash Kar discussed about life of Dr. Radhakrishnan in presence of SDM Sudhakar Sindhe, Education Officer of Sepahijala Habul Lodh and IS Agan Kumar Tripura.
Moreover National Teachers Day observed with befitting respect at Teliamura Town Hall today. MLA Kalyani Roy inaugurated the programme by lighting lamp and MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury discussed on life of Dr. Radhakrishnan. Eminent persons attended the programme in presence of SDM Bhaswar Bhattacharjee. On the occasion 13 retired teachers were felicitated in presence of teachers from different schools.
