After seizing Yaba tablet of Rs. 1.5 crore and arrest of 2 smugglers from Kadamtala, SP of North Bhanupada Chakraborty again seized Yaba tablet worth of Rs. 20 lakh from Panisagar today.
Sources said that acting on secret information SP conducted the raid in early morning today at the house of Abdul Basar (40) at ward no-2 of Bilthai Panchayat under Panisagar Police Station area. During raid police recovered 5000 Yaba tablet worth of Rs. 20 lakh and a new Wagoner car which was not registered and kept to use for smuggling.
Police seized the tablets and the car and brought those to the police station and arrested Abdul. Police had information that carpenter Abdul Basar was continuing the business during last 10 months.
Abdul said to police that he sold 12000 tablets yesterday. Meanwhile police filed a case under section 8/21(c)/ 29 A/ 29 NDPS of IPC. It is also mentionable that 109 Km of Tripura – Mizoram Border is still open after the recently ended Loksabha poll.
