Acting on secret information SDPO of Kanchanpur Police Station Bikramjit Sukla Das and OC of the Police Station Paritosh Das arrested five Bangladeshi citizens who were staying at a rented house at Dashda on last night.
Sources said that SDPO and OC visited the house of P. Nath at Laxmipur of Dashda area on the basis of information that some people of minority community were staying at the rented house.
On being asked the persons said that they were Nilam Bazar at Kachar in Assam. But they could not tell name of the village of their dwelling. Under suspect ion they were brought to Police Station.
After interrogation they said that they came from Moulabi Bazar of Bangladesh but they had no passport. They admitted that they came through Kailashahar. SDPO informed that the persons have been produced in the court today and they will be send to police remand. The persons are Fajul Islam (27), Jabir Ahamed (22), Millat Mia (24), Siralla Mia (22) and Maktar Mia (22).
