4 injured after alleged BJP-CPIM clash in North Tripura

AGARTALA:

Tension prevails at Dharmanagar in North Tripura District as over 10 motorcycles were set on fire injuring at least four youths reportedly of BJP Yuva Morcha. The incident took place during the nomination filing for Panchayat elections in Dharmanagar today.

The BJP MLA Biswabandhu Sen rushed to the incident spot and accused the CPI-M cadres of instigating this violence, where many vehicles were torched and three were injured. "Some CPI-M supporters have discovered this terror tactics while our party supporters of Yuva Morcha were on their way for poll campaign," Mr. Sen said today.

He also said, "The situation will not be restored until the CPI-M hooligans involved with this incident are not arrested." He alleged, "It was pre-planned attack by the CPI-M cadres."

However, the incident has triggered serious resentment among the locals of Pashchim Para of Dharmanagar sub-division in North Tripura district.
