33rd Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan today.
In the programme, altogether 3,600 students of Tripura got certificates in different programmes run by the University.
The programme was inaugurated by the director of NIT Agartala HK Sharma and Secretary Ram Krishna Mission Agartala Swami Hitakamananda Maharaj.
Speaking to this reporter, Kiran Kishore Chakraborty said, the IGNOU is doing very well in reaching higher education to the rural areas. People who somehow failed to continue higher studies are now getting ample scopes to get the left over studies complete. The number of women students, ST/SC and OBC students are also comparatively higher in IGNOU, he added.
