3 restaurants in Agartala shut down for fridging stale food

AGARTALA:

Renowned hotels and restaurants in the capital town of Agartala were accused of serving stale food and dishes after the state food department jointly with the state administration conducted a sudden raid probably for the first time in Tripura.

The incident took place on Wednesday after the department officers conducted the raid and found stale food either readied to be cooked or serve the customers on Wednesday.

However, following the alleged filthy hygiene and sanitation of those hotels where raids were conducted, the concerned department has issued a notice and for the time being, has shut down a total of three renowned restaurants and hotels.

The officers said the samples of those stale food collected in course of the raid are to be send to testing laboratory following which necessary action shall be taken against the owners.
