158th Birth Anniversary of Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore observed with befitting respect through different programmes at Udaipur today. A Prabhat Feri paraded different streets of the town in the morning today.
DM of Gomati District T.K. Debnath and eminent persons offered floral tribute at the portrait of the Poet in the cultural programme organized at Udaipur Town Hall. Later on Prabhati Kabi Pranam organized at the premises of Bhubaneswari Mandir at the Old Royal Palace known as Puran Rajbari.
The students of different schools performed Rabindra Sangeet, Nritya and recitation at the cultural programme. Debasish Nath, Assistant Director of ICA in Gomati District delivered the welcome address.
Later on the guests participated in plantation of trees at the premises of Bhubaneshwari Mandir.
On the occasion a sit and draw competition was also organized among the children.
