Keeping parity with the country the 121st birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul observed with befitting respect in the state.
On the occasion Kabi Pranam organized with initiative of ICA at Nazrul Kalakshetra. Secretary of ICA Manik Lal Dey, Director Ashudeb Das, singer Utpal Biswas, eminent violin player Subal Biswas and others offered floral tribute to the statue of the poet.
On the occasion the officials delivered speeches appealing to build up the country in new form by following the ideals of the poet for showing equal respect to all. Later the artists of Asha Sangeet Kalakendra performed songs. Besides artists of different cultural organizations performed sangeet and Nazrul Nritya.
Besides, Agnibina organized Kabi Pranam at the premises of Rabindra Bhavan in the morning today. On the occasion School Education department observed birth anniversary of the poet and ICA organized two days cultural function at Rabindra Bhavan.
Our Teliamura correspondent added that Kabi Nazrul H.S. School of Teliamura observed 121st birth anniversary of revolutionary poet Nazrul with befitting respect today. Chief Whip of State Assembly Kalyani Roy inaugurated the Nazrul Janma Jayant programme at the school by offering floral tribute to the statue of the poet and by lighting lamp. Among others vice chairman of Teliamura Municipal Council Rupak Sarkar, Chairman of Panchayat Samity Apu Gope, Chairman of School Management Committee Pradip Choudhury, and Headmaster of the school Bishurai Debbarma were present on the occasion. Assistant Headmaster of the school Chandan Biswas delivered the welcome address.
Speaking on the occasion Kalyani Roy advised the students to take initiative of building bright future by following the ideals of Kabi Nazrul. Later the students participated in sit and draw competition and essay competition and performed Nazrul Nritya, Sangeet and recitation. In the evening prizes were handed over among the winners of different competitions.
Our Charilam correspondent added that birth anniversary of Kabi Nazrul observed at Liladeb Community Hall of Charilam. Earlier a Prabhat Feri paraded different streets at early morning.
Later Kabi Pranam started by offering floral tribute to the portrait of the poet. On the occasion cultural function organized in collaboration with ICA department. Besides ADM inaugurated Kabi Pranam at 5 p.m. On the occasion the artists of the subdivision and ICA performed a colourful cultural programme.
