At least 10 Bangladeshis detained by BSF jawans of Ashabari BOP in between Gate no 153 and 165 at Rahimpur Border of Boxanagar at 4 p.m. yesterday. Then they were kept Ashabari BOP. At last they were handed over to the police of Kalamchoura Police Station at 11 a.m. today.
Sources said that the Bangladeshi citizens were caught by BSF when they were fleeing from Putuplya Refugee camp of Chittagang in Bangladesh with the help of some Bangladeshi agents and some Indian agents through Rahimpur Border in exchange of huge amount of ransom.
According to sources 5 are female; one male and 4 children are included among them. Police recovered 9325 Bangladeshi currency from them.
Talking to them police came to know that they could not understand Bengali but they had a little knowledge about Hindi. They are the resident of Myanmar. The names of the detained persons are Golam Nabi (35) Noor Duaba (25), Noor Fatima (2), Amiya Khatun (25), Hazi Noor (5), Jannatora, Rahena Bibi (10), Md. Tuha (3) and Hajiya Khatun.
All of them were produced at Sonamura Court in the afternoon today after completion of medical checkup at Baxanagar Social Health Centre. During interrogation they said that they entered with the help of agents at Boxanagar.
Such illegal infiltration of Bangladeshi Rohingas in exchange of payment to agents raised many questions in border areas.
