Reacting on former Congress president Birajit Sinha’s remarks on families Dambur and Bru, he alleged that the CPIM and Congress were hatching conspiracies to trigger a disturbance in the state.
The state government has announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the bereaved family of Sushanta Ghosh, who reportedly committed suicide in the police custody at West Agartala police station yesterday.
In a major reshuffle in the state police, altogether 6 IPS and 26 TPS officers have been transferred today. As per the official notification published in this regard, a total of 32 highly placed police personnel get new postings.
Sushanta Ghosh, a resident of Lankamura in West Tripura, who was arrested by cyber crime branch of Tripura police on Saturday in connection with ATM hacking case in Agartala, died in police custody on Sunday morning.
'The government should at least order a magisterial inquiry. Government cannot keep silence on such grave matters like deaths after deaths in lock-up. The police’s inability is ostensive and gradually it is reflecting the government’s inaction' the former Chief Minister added.
