The beauteous folk dances of Mizoram, the eye-catching rock concerts at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan by a group of youth came all the way from the “Garo hills”, delicious indigenous eateries, all wrapped in a package—the 6th North East Youth Festival today made its mark in the state capital with an eutaxy of performances by several youth groups.
While speaking to the newsman Chongkam Gabil—Momaim, who is for the first time in Tripura had said, it is for the second time I am participating in such an arrangement, last year I attended in Sikkim and this year we came to another neighbouring state which enable us to understand the culture of our land.
Expressing his feeling on the hospitality they received he said, I am very much happy that we are here in Tripura and I will once again visit the state with my friends to feel the greeting ambience of this mixed-populated state.
While asked about fooding and accommodation facilities he was also found very happy. He said the indigenous food specially dishes prepared by pork and dried-fishes are very delicious here.
Another youth group wandering at the children’s’ park found enjoying with every passing beat of music, echoed entirely the same. “It is the most comfortable place I have ever travelled and the food is almost same as we are used to of”, said Lalhmunsanga, a 21 year old youngman from Mizoram.
He and his group of 57 people who had just finished their scheduled activity—participated in Painting, Folk dances and a singing performance by the girls were hopping in the stalls set up by different states and organizations.
Meanwhile, there were also seen prolonged queues in front of the eateries. Delicious culinary creations including Sunju, Kher, Momos, Hangjak, Sokjak, Pengjak and many more, mostly indigenous foods were depicted in the stall and the throngs of food-loving people was also attractive in the sense of festivity.
