A program to observe World Ozone Day and World Bamboo Day was organized by Centre for Forest-based Livelihoods and Extension (CFLE), Agartala. Teachers, students and other faculty members from Barjala H.S. School, Gandhigram and Auxilium Girls School participated in the program.
The programme was inaugurated by the Regional Director CFLE. In his address Regional Director, CFLE, Agartala, Pawan K Kaushik explains the importance and objectives of the two international days.
In the first session, World Ozone Day was observed. All the students from these schools were explained about the Ozone layer depletion and measures to be taken up for its protection. Students also elaborated short paragraphs on the topic of Ozone Layer.
In the second session, World Bamboo Day was opened to celebrate for three days till Sept 18, 2017. Scientists of CFLE explained about the role of bamboo in environment and how to preserve it and also about the uses of various bamboos. Students also recited in details about the 20 Bamboo species and their uses.
The program concluded with vote of thanks from Regional Director, CFLE.
